A Roc The Mic Wednesdays favorite, artist DoughMoe traveled from Phoenix, AZ to New York to perform on the DJ Pest stage. I wanted to introduce him to you by doing a Q&A. Check out the interview below…

Tell the people about yourself.

DoughMoe is an artist from Chicago, IL but lives in Phoenix, AZ. Growing up as a child DoughMoe was always around music, either it was rock, metal, country, R&B, or rap. He was always around music so he was able to get a taste of everything. Growing up DoughMoe always loved music & by the age of 8 years old that is what he wanted to pursue! Always involved in sports, he knew that it would be a hustle but is willing to do anything to get to where he wants! “As Long As You Put Your Mind Into It, You Can Do Anything”

How long have you been making music?

DoughMoe has been making music since 8 years old when he was just recording voice memos over instrumentals on YouTube! Until high school where he met an old friend that introduced him into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). He fell in love even more when he discovered his first DAW which was Mixcraft. He started recording a few songs in high school with his buddy & went to 2 professional studios. By going to 2 studios & working with engineers he decided he didn’t like their work so he decided to go to SAE Institue in Chicago to learn how to do it himself. Dropping his first album “Welcome To DoughMoeLand” which is something he really didn’t want to drop because that wasn’t the real him he decided to part ways with the producer & manager that helped him make that & still to this day believes in him!

What are your music goals?

My music goals are to keep on growing as an artists & to continue to grow relationships with people in the industry! My long term goals are just to make a big impact on the world & to make sure I leave a legacy for my family.

Who or what inspires you to create music?

What inspires me to keep creating music is the fact that this is the only thing I want to do with my life & being able to travel is something I love to so I just keep pushing. Something else that inspires me is the financial freedom that comes with music because with music it really doesn’t feel like work since it’s something I love to do, I would also want to take care of my family & give the best life I can give to everybody around me!

My top 3 favorite artists are Juice Wrld, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Peep
