Black Panther 2 Wraps Filming

Thats a wrap!

Marvel Studios is set to close off its theatrical releases in 2022 with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is finally inching closer to its extensive post-production work. Having pushed through different challenges on a consistent basis, the Marvel team is moving quickly to make sure this anticipated sequel is ready for its release in just over seven months.

With multiple Black Panther stars coming back into play after the tragic loss of leading man Chadwick Boseman, Marvel is putting forth its best effort to deliver a story that lives up to expectations. Even without its former leading actor and having numerous difficulties throughout production, there is a growing belief that Wakanda Forever could exceed the hype building for its debut.

Most recently, the Marvel crew traveled to Puerto Rico to shoot new material for the plot, which reportedly will feature a flashback scene dating to 500 years ago in history. Now, the latest development gives fans and the MCU team an exciting new milestone as Black Panther 2 moves closer to the finish line.

Cinematographer Autumn Durald shared a picture on her Instagram story of her celebratory beverage, with a simple caption in the corner saying “the end” with a Puerto Rican flag:

While this shoot in Puerto Rico seemingly only lasted a short time, it appears that the crew can see the end just over the horizon.

There are likely still a few more weeks of shooting left to complete before Black Panther 2 moves completely to the editing room, although there is plenty of thrilling action to work into the plot. From a deeper look into Wakandan culture and history to the first footage for Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart, this sequel should add something new and unique to the growing MCU narrative.

The big question in play now as filming inches closer to the end – what kind of story are fans in for with Black Panther 2?

Characters like Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Winston Duke’s M’Baku could be in line to take over the Black Panther mantle while the country faces threats from multiple angles, in addition to rumors that the movie also introduces Tenoch Huerta’s Namor the Submariner. While it will be some time until those details come to light, there is more positivity than ever coming from set as the team heads home from Puerto Rico.
