So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well my name is Tiffany Miller from Detroit, Mi. I’m a 33 year old professional dancer and 7 years ago I started the Body Shop Xperts which is a series of alternative dance and fitness classes I host for adult women. It was my hope to encourage and empower everyday women to stay active by doing something fun in a judgement free zone.
Lets dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not lol It has been such an up and down journey but I’ve learned so much about business over the years. I’ve taken some major losses and I’ve also won big! The biggest challenge I had to overcome was criticism and not letting it effect me. People fail to realize that behind these social media pages there’s a real person but I learned to not let it bother me as much.
What should we know about your business? What does your business do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business was the first of its kind here in Detroit! As a small business owner, this pandemic has effected me tremendously however, I always find a way to give back to my clients and community. What sets me apart from the competition is that I try not to think of anyone as “competition”. I am my brand, and no one can be!
Ok, Last Question, What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me success is setting a goal and doing my very best to achieve it! It’s not always about the money. Where I come from, there’s ways to make fast money so I measure my success on how hard I work.
