So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.

For about 20 years I dealt with eating disorders. After a near death experience I began healing myself by prayer, and cooking healthier. As a messy eater & model, needing to be covered while in kitchen, the business idea became clear . Each apron I crate has a body positive phrase on it to bring awareness to eating disorders & uplift self esteem.

Lets dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The challenge honestly came from deciding to talk about my story. In the modeling industry it’s a huge taboo topic because almost every model does it. Generally speaking the more a model gets paid the more likely it is to be done. Thankfully I learned different skills behind the scenes and I have been able to use that to my advantage to prevent me from being written off in the industry.

What should we know about your business? What does your business do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

We offer free shipping! We want any one who purchases to know that we care, eating disorders, especially in the black community are a very real thing. Anorexia, which is choosing not to eat because you want to reach a desired body weight takes more lives than suicide! Our aprons are QUALITY and we have an adjustable neck strap with pockets!

Ok, Last Question, What is “success” or “successful” for you?

Success for the brand looks like the smile the customers have when they get the box, when someone reaches out to me saying they’re not sure how they can help their son/daughter and what advice can I give. Success also looks like the pride anyone has when they wear my apron around people they know and someone else wants one.
