My name is Kennedy from the Eastside of Detroit. I’ve been living in Arizona for 10 years now. My story is straight outta America’s Urban trilogies. I grew up with a blended family dynamic -you know where Grandma is the glue. Unfortunately my Nana passed at 10 and our structure took a turn. Our family became the house where the kids are raising each other. My middle class life quickly morphed to teen pregnancy and foster care.
Lets dig a little deeper into the story, has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path definitely wasn’t easy. The immediate challenges that I had to overcome was lack of support and needing to grow up QUICKLY and be self sufficient not only for myself but for my daughter too.

Success to me is a few things. Having satisfaction in knowing that I’ve made a positive impact on someone’s life is successful. Being prosperous in my purpose is successful. Me being the BEST version of myself and working at my potential allows everything I want to manifest and flourish – that’s success.
