On Sunday (June 30), Kevin Durant made his announcement that he was headed to Brooklyn with an IG post that featured the sounds of The Notorious B.I.G., and sure enough, his new teammate in Kyrie Irving broke his silence today with help from another Brooklyn legend in JAY-Z.
On an IG post this morning, Irving explained his reasoning on signing with the Nets over Hov’s “PSA” record, walking on the Brooklyn Bridge to say “It was fourth grade, I had just gotten done watching the Nets in the Finals and then I knew that this is a dream that I want to fulfill. I had to manifest that, I had to go get it.”
“In my heart, I knew I always wanted to play at home,” the West Orange native additionally stated, adding that “home is where my heart is and it’s always been there… I’m happy to be in Brooklyn.”
